Dunrovin Exotic Animal Sanctuary
General information
Dunrovin's Exotic Animal Sanctuary is the only 501c3 nonprofit exotic animal sanctuary in Moore County, NC. Our mission is to provide a permanent home to exotic animals in need while also creating a fun and educational space for all members of the community to enjoy. We constantly strive to improve the lives of the animals who reside in the Sanctuary by building bigger and better enclosures, providing the best medical care by extremely knowledgeable veterinarians, and staying up to date with best husbandry practices.
Our Sanctuary started with just 10 rescues, and we are now up to over 200! We take in a wide variety of animals, including fish, reptiles, exotic mammals, tropical birds, and even some livestock. We believe stability is very important to these animals, so our rescues have a permanent home with us. This allows them to form strong, lifelong bonds with their caretakers, and also guarantees they will be provided the best nutrition and veterinary care.

Grinch is a Green Vervet Monkey. Walter has a history of not getting along with other monkeys, but he loves human interaction from his caretakers.

Timmy is one of our Sulcata Tortoises. He is over 25 years old! Sulcata tortoises are the 3rd largest tortoise species in the world and can grow to over 150 lbs.

Pistachio is a Capybara. He was the runt of his litter and was born with a deformity causing him to need regular tooth trims.

Harley is one of our many macaws. He lives with his mate, Dutchess (formerly know as Duke until "he" laid an egg), and loves to play peek-a-boo with visitors.
Help Our Cause
Dunrovin's Exotic Animal Sanctuary is free to visit year-round. Our funding is derived from donations made by our visitors and people passionate about our mission. Your support allows us to continue our important work while still being free to all.
free and Open daily
The Store is open daily from 9am to 6pm, and the Sanctuary is open daily from 9am to 5pm. We are CLOSED Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
There is no admission charge to visit the Sanctuary, but donations are greatly appreciated. We couldn't do this without you!
